Minister Kopicová welcomed the participants of the Youth Event at the Bambiriad event
2009.
Bambiriad 2009 was organised in a European context – it was held alongside two important conferences organised in Prague within the scope of the activities of the Czech EU Presidency, i.e. the Youth Event – a conference of representatives of youth councils from all of Europe; and the conference of directors responsible for youth at EU Ministries of Education. Participants in these meetings, accompanied by Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Miroslava Kopicová, visited the Bambiriad before its “official” launch and they were thus able to acquaint themselves with the theme as well as the concrete execution of the event.
Accompanied by President of the Czech Council of Children and Youth Aleš Sedláček, Minister Kopicová walked through the Bambiriad grounds. She showed interest in examples of programmes of youth associations.
Parents and children in 14 Czech towns were acquainted with demonstrations of year-round activities of dozens of children’s clubs, organisations and youth centres. Apart from Prague, the following towns were also infused with the Bambiriad spirit this year on 4 – 7 June: Beroun, Brno, České Budějovice, Chomutov, Chropyně, Chrudim, Jihlava, Karlovy Vary, Liberec, Náchod (with a branch in Rychnov nad Kněžnou), Ostrava (with a branch in Havířov, Frýdek-Místek, Třinec), Plzeň a Zábřeh.
