A regular meeting of Directors General responsible for education from the Member States will provide an opportunity to discuss mainly a new strategic framework for future European cooperation in education and training beyond. The discussion will define priorities, goals and instruments for the future development of education and training within the new framework and will set the role of education as a prerequisite for competitiveness, social cohesion and global cooperation. Another issue discussed will be progress toward fulfilling the work programme on Education and Training 2010.
