The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) announces that the allocation of financial support for Czech-Norwegian Research Programme CZ09 has been increased. This increase of allocation was recommended by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic thus expressing confidence in Programme CZ09 management by MEYS.
Funds amounting to 2 016 377 € i.e. 53 433 991 CZK (exchange rate 26.5 CZK/€) have been reallocated from the programme titled Carbon Capture and Storage CZ08 in the following areas: Pilot Studies and Surveys on CCS Technology. This reallocation has been approved by Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 11th December 2014 MEYS sent an official letter to the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic accepting the reallocation from the programme CZ08. However, the reallocation requires 25 million CZK as co-financing from MEYS. MEYS is willing to use all reallocated funds together with MEYS contribution for institutional support of selected research projects from the reserve list without increasing expenses for Programme management.
From the financial point of view, MEYS is ready to enable realization of selected projects from the reserve list in 2015 respecting European and national legislation for R and D. Nevertheless, it has to be expected, that these projects will be given shorter period for realization and adequately decreased budgets.
In order to administrate financial support increase, it is required that Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) revises Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Czech Republic and Kingdom of Norway followed by its acceptation by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic. Consequently amendments of Programme Agreement and Memorandum on Implementation of Programme CZ09 will be carried out on standard basis between the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and MEYS.
MEYS is going to publish fulfilment of these administrative conditions on its webpage and also to inform the project promoters about the initiation of negotiations.
