Youth Information Centres are places that provide, on an anonymous basis and free of charge, complex and up-to-date
information on various aspects of young people’s life according to their demands and needs, proportionately to their
age and capacities. The information shall be provided in compliance with the European Youth Information Charter and
the Principles for Online Youth Information. The target groups of the youth information centres are, above all, young
people up to 26 years of age. The YICs guarantee an equal access to information for all young people. They are run
mainly by youth centres and by NGO’s.

organization of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The fundamental strategic documents of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in the field of providing youth
information are the National Youth Strategy for the period of 2014 – 2020 , which was approved by the
Government of the Czech Republic in May 2014, and the Youth Information System Development Framework in the
Czech Republic , which was approved by the ministerial leadership meeting in April 2008.

National Youth Strategy for years 2014 – 2020 is the fundamental document of the Czech Republic for implementation of
the state youth policy. This strategic document was discussed at the meeting of the Government of the Czech Republic
on 12th May 2014 and approved by resolution Nr. 342/2014.
